We have an information evening at 5pm. Please share this with anyone you know whose children will be starting Reception/EYFS in September 2025 and may be interested in sending their child to Gordon.

You will have had a separate letter if your child has been selected for either of the two Basketball Mini Youth competitions for this term.

A letter has been sent out for you to pre-book your appointment with your child's class teacher for parents evening. Each teacher has a 10 minute slot per child to discuss your child's progress.

This is our successful second hand uniform shop where you can donate or buy second hand uniform and help raise money for the school, as well as being able to buy uniform at a much lower price.

This assembly is an opportunity for Year 6 to share with you all that they learned in Term 1. Throughout the year, each year group will have one of these assemblies.

This is an opportunity to meet the PTA, discuss how you can get involved with our PTA and meet other parents for some coffee and cake!

Infant Hall
9am

All parents are welcome. This is an opportunity to gain information about the types of emotional support that Kyle Jenkins from the emotional support team can offer.

More details will be sent out about this and how we intend to raise money for Children in Need but children will be invited to wear something spotty or yellow to school.

3:30pm

The door will be open from the junior playground so that you can head straight to the infant hall for a 3.30 start. This is an opportunity to find out about the Multiplication Table Check and how to best prepare your child for it. Children are welcome to attend with you.

4pm to 5:30pm

Throughout the year, the PTA will be running discos for each year group. Next term, it is year 3 and 4s turn! Children can bring money to buy sweets and small treats!

Infant Hall
3:30pm

The door will be open from the junior playground and sign posted so that you can head straight to the infant hall for a 3.30 start. This is to learn more about the Phonics Screening, how we teach Phonics at Gordon and how you can best support your child at home. Children are welcome to attend with you.

PTA Room
1:10pm

This is not an event that parents come into school for. Within school, children have the opportunity to bring money in and buy presents for family members from the PTA.

This year, due to the positive response on social media from our parents, for the first time ever, we are planning on hosting a Christmas Market with external stalls after school and through the evening. We will send out more details nearer the time and will confirm if this is going ahead, depending on interest in stalls. If you would like to have a stall, please get in touch with the PTA.

Family members are invited to see children perform the Carols that they have been learning in singing assembly this term!

St. Nicholas' Church

We are very excited to announce that this year the children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 will have the opportunity to perform at the church. There will be a lower KS2 performance in the morning and an upper KS2 performance in the afternoon but exact timings need to be confirmed with the church. You will then be informed of this.

Christmas Jumper Day

Children are invited to wear their Christmas Jumper to school and to provide a voluntary donation for Save the Children

Leave and collection from Gordon
3:40pm to 4:15pm

Members of the choir have been invited to sing carols and festive songs in two local residential care homes in the lead-up for Christmas break. This is a lovely opportunity for them to get out in the community, help spread festive joy and spark some nostalgic memories among the elderly residents!

Infant and Junior Gates
2:30pm

From 2.30, you are invited to come into school and head to your child's classroom. You will have the opportunity to look through their books and your child will be able to show you the work they are most proud of this year. When you are finished, you can take your child home. We aim to do this at the end of term each term for the foreseeable future!

Gordon 125 Years - Victorian Day

In order to finalise the celebrations for the 125 years, children are invited to dress up as if they came to school in the Victorian Era. They will be having a day off time, following similar learning to children who came to Gordon 125 years ago!

After school, our usual Christmas fair will be on! This year has an exciting twist with visits from the revealing of our new commemorative mosaics by the mayor and mayoress, as well as a performance by the choir and lots more exciting elements to make our school fair bigger and better than ever before!
