Gordon Receives Letter of Thanks for NHS Artwork

We were delighted to receive a lovely letter from the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership, thanking our pupils for the range of beautiful artwork they created to be displayed over Christmas at Priority House.

Due to restrictions, staff at Priority House in Maidstone were unable to put up Christmas decorations, so our pupils provided them with hundreds of pictures and messages for the staff and patients to enjoy over the festive period! This gesture was greatly received by both staff and patients at Priority House, and our children’s excellent creativity added some Christmas cheer to the unit.

“Never in our wildest dreams did we expect a whole sack of fabulous creative posters and pictures amd we were absolutely thrilled and delighted to receive them,” wrote Helen Greatorex, Chief Executive, in her lovely letter to our school. “They say that Christmas wishes do come true, and you have all made that happen for all the staff and patients here at Priority House.”

We were also mentioned in Kent and Medway NHS’ Christmas Countdown – they used our children’s artwork to celebrate kindness within the Kent and Medway NHS Trust and the role it plays in supporting their work. You can find their Christmas Countdown article here!

Our Head Teacher, Mrs Jones, said ““I am incredibly proud of our pupils at The Gordon Children’s Academy for creating such beautiful Christmas artwork for the Kent and Medway NHS Services. It was brilliant to receive such a lovely message of thanks from the Head of Service at Kent and Medway NHS, and the children are all very proud of the difference they have made to those who worked to keep us all safe over Christmas. Nurturing our pupils’ creativity and building relationships with our local community is fundamental in our commitment to transforming life chances.”

We are honoured to have received such a heartfelt letter of thanks from the Kent and Medway NHS, and to see our children engaging with the local community in such a lovely way. Thank you to every member of NHS staff in our local community for their continued hard work during uncertain times, and well done to our children for creating such fantastic artwork for Priority House.
